A new friend from Guinea

Every Tuesday in a Bologna’s elementary school gym, Nadouba Oularé holds her lessons of Traditional African Dance.
Nadouba is nothing less than the granddaughter of the famous Fadouba Oularé, founder in 1959 of the “Les Ballets Africains”, and comes from Faranah, Guinea, where she learnt malinkè traditional dance.
In Africa she used to perform both with professional Guinean and Ivorian ballets, such as Ballet Filima, Baga Fotè, Ballet Samato, Ballet Wofa, Aklysso. She arrived in Italy in 2005, and took part to Anyewa Mandè, funded by Sourakhata Dioubate. She now holds her lessons in Bologna, Rimini and Rome.
And she is only 22.
We knew her thanks to Rosanna, the President of the Cultural Association “Donne di Sabbia” who is also one of her faithful learner.
On Tuesday the 8th of April, we attended Nadouba’s lessons, among suspicious ladies, not very happy to be filmed.
Nadouba has an unbelievable energy and is able to transmit the passion of these ancient dances. She also sings with an angel voice, and you just could stay hours listening to her.
