Up to You: Women Correcting Media Images

The activities start out with a 10-day course in Denmark culminating in an open day event for Intercultural Dialogue on Women in the Media in the MENA region and Denmark where there will be a panel debate comprising the 25 participants and coordinators. The public and various members of the media will be invited to this event highlighting the necessity of gender awareness, equality, diversity and empowerment for balanced information and democracy. The tentative date for the open day is 23rd August 2008. There will also be a 3-day follow-up workshop in Cairo. At the course and workshop the participants will work on developing a booklet of good practices for women in the media. The booklet will be promoted by the Danish participants in February/March 2008 in connection with lectures on their project experiences at selected Danish peoples’ colleges.
