26th INTERNATIONAL YOUTH MEETING CABUEÑES 2008

The Cabueñes Meetings have been held for 26 years in the city of Gijón, bringing together young people from all over Spain and other countries to discuss and share knowledge on themes most related to youth. The meetings provide a week of living together in which training activities are combined with discussions, proposals and alternative activities. Cabueñes 2008 will be organised around seven thematic sections, with training activities structured in participatory seminars and practical workshops. The seven seminars will have the following transversal aspects as their common denominator:  Consideration of IT and the Information Society  Gender perspective  International themes 2008: International Planet Earth Year / European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.  Participatory Seminars:  The aim of these spaces is to discuss the most important theoretical aspects and knowledge on innovative experiences in each thematic section, to provoke thought and debate among the participants based on concrete experiences related to the contents dealt with.  Workshops The workshops are linked to the fundamental role of IT in various aspects of daily life and young people. Their contents are eminently practical, broadening aspects dealt with in the seminars. They will be held in the afternoons and those registered in the seminars may attend as many as they wish. We are 3 people from Jordan,,, would like to partticipate in this intersting youth meeting . is there fees? if yes how much? can you send us 3 letters of invitation so that it will be easy for us to get visa ? what about accommodation?

A piece of advice for those who want to participate in Cabueñes 2008:

The official language of the meeting will be Spanish, but the launch presentation will be in English.

It is advisable to send a letter or expression of interest explaining why you are interested in Cabueñes and what is your relation with youth: member of associations, policy makers, or if you are young and interested in affairs such as employment, technology, interculturality, etc.
There is the possibility of showing digital experiences such as powerpoints explaining your association or anything you want to tell us, pictures. Anything you want to contribute with will be taken in consideration preferably.
