The festival is one of the most colourful cultural series of events of the Hungarian summer. The ten-day long chain of dance and music programmes are organised at main sites of Budapest. The carnival atmosphere is reached through the presence of the various art forms like folk dance and music, contemporary dance, world music, brass music, besides the wide palette of the performing countries.
Objectifs (maximum de 50 mots):
The primary objective of the Carnival is to present with dignity the most significant national and regional cultural achievements and trends at European level, at the same time enhancing the intercultural dialogue.
Our aim is to integrate the Danube Carnival, as a significant event series of the national and international traditions into the cultural life of Europe.

young amateur and professional artists, dancers, musicians, choreographers, art managers taking part actively in the project from all the participating countries;
the local, regional and international audiences of the shows in Budapest
Activités (maximum 130 mots):
This year 11 foreign ensembles with 275 artists perform at the Carnival. Besides the Hungarian professional and traditional dance groups we welcome the representatives of the European culture and guest ensembles from over seas. Among others the programmes of the Bulgarian Trakia State Folk Ensemble and the Egyptian dance group promise to be peculiar.
The venues of the Carnival: Vörösmarty Square, Margaret Island Open Air Theatre, Roosevelt Square, Mátyásföld, Békásmegyer, Győr, Budakalász, Üröm. The programmes are free for public excepting the Gala at the Margaret Island.
The Gala concert at the Margaret Island Open Air Stage is titled: European Dance Caravan, shown on June 20, at 8 p.m. The international dance co-production is featured by more than 300 international and Hungarian artists with the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble and the Duna Art Ensemble.
On June 21, in the heart of Budapest more than 600 participants will join the Carnival Parade defiling from the Adam Clark Square through the Chain Bridge. The dance and music groups celebrate the Carnival with a non-stop dance gala at the Vörösmarty Square.
