Objectifs (maximum de 50 mots):
- to present and discuss the diversity of the Neighborhood - to foster the developement of this multicultural area - to train young teachers and trainers in intercultural issues and conflict prevention within multicultural environment
Groupes cibles (maximum de 50 mots):
Target groups are Panenska Neighborhood dwellers, representatives of the Old Town Municipal Office, representatives of other traditional and new ethnic and religious communities; teachers and trainer from both formal and informal education
Activités (maximum 130 mots):
1. Dialogue with "Neighbors" - "Good evening, Neighbors!": Discussion took place in the book store “ArtForum” on Panenska street. The purpose of the public discussion was to expose the diversity of the Neighborhood. Invited guests were Mayor Andrej Petrek from Old Town Municipal Office, Peter Salner – the head of the Jewish Religious Community in Bratislava, Karol Pavlů from the Evangelical Church and Daniela Danihelová from Community Foundation in Bratislava. The aim of this “public negotiation of identities” was to foster dialogue about the peculiarity of the community, possibility to maintain the historical individuality and traditions, the future development of the community, to discuss if it is even possible to build Neighborhood in the city centre and what can be done for better relations within the community. 2. Dialogue with "Strangers" - workshop Learning & Cultural Diversity: the two-day workshop (22-23 may) was lectured by a British trainer Jonathan Levy who has experiences with learning in multicultural environments, has worked in migrant communities in French suburbs and is now an independent trainer and provides training in the education, social, NGO and business sectors. The workshop was focused on the developement of intercultural skills through experiential learning.
