The Cultural Association Scarti, created in 2001 but already operating as a short film production firm under the name Scartifilm and on the Web since 2000 with its own site, focuses on the cultural dialogue through cinema and on the promotion of and distribution of short films coming from all over Europe and other continents. Since 2002 the Cultural Association Scarti developes international short film festival Magma. Throughout six years of activity, Magma - mostra di cinema breve is a short film festival with a strong international flavour. Thanks to a wide range of contacts, Magma collects works from all over the world (participating countries number 73 so far) which are exhibited to a mixed and involved audience. In six editions, the organisation of Magma examined 1650 works, offering 290 short films to the public; from 2002 to 2007, the festival reached a total of about 7000 admissions, hosting directors coming from France, Palestine, Belgium, Denmark, Japan, Australia, Thailand, England, Spain, Puerto Rico, Italy, Turkey, Holland, Germany, Lithuania, Portugal, Norway, India, Finland, the USA, Romania, Hungary.
